AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE SIGNED PHOTO BY CHARLIE PARKER
Parker, Charlie (1920 - 1955)
A fabulous signed and inscribed 8" X 10" publicity portrait by Charlie Parker. Parker is shown in a smiling three-quarter length pose with his saxophone. Very boldly signed in ballpoint pen to a light portion, with slight ink-skipping in places, and additionally annotated in another hand, to the lower border, "Feb. 25th 1951", this being the date on which this photograph was signed in-person at a jazz club. Slight corner creasing (lower left corner creased more heavily), a few discoloured spots, and an adhesion mark to the top-right corner causing slight paper loss. Otherwise in very fine condition. Authentic signed photographs by Parker are of the utmost rarity.
