A RARE SKETCH BY DE KOONING
de Kooning, Willem (1904 - 1997)
An original portrait sketch by Willem de Kooning, drawn in ballpoint pen on a sheet of headed paper. The artist draws a haunting image of a woman, much reminiscent of his famous Woman paintings of the early 1950s. The artist adds an inscription below the sketch, "To Cavin, from Bill". A note in another hand to the top of the page indicates that de Kooning drew this sketch for Kevin Bernard in May 1977. In fine condition. Rare and desirable in this format.
